SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE winds 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 30, gradually easing toward the end of the day to 10-20, during the night to 6-16 knots. In the South and Central Adriatic NE, toward the open sea NW winds, 12-24 knots. Sea 3-4, in the open at first possibly up to 5, calming in the North Adriatic in the evening to 2-3. Visibility 20 km. In places variably cloudy with a chance of scattered rain in the open sea during the night.

In the North Adriatic light to moderate, in the rest of the Adriatic moderate to strong NE winds, gradually dying away, in the North Adriatic till the morning and in the rest of the Adriatic toward midday. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the South and Central Adriatic up to moderate, calming later on. Fine or fair, in the open sea variably cloudy with a chance of scattered rain.
