A ridge of high pressure is extending from the European land toward the Adriatic, while a high level low over the South Adriatic is slowly filling up.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

Calm or NW and NE winds 4-10 knots. In the Velebit Channel, north of Istria and in the South Adriatic during the forenoon, NE winds 6-16 knots. Sea 1-2, in the Velebit Channel, north of Istria, and in the South Adriatic during the forenoon possibly up to 3. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or isolated thundery rain showers, mainly along the coast around midday and in the afternoon.

Fine or fair with a very little chance of scattered rain or isolated thundery rain showers, mainly in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic. Calm or light variable winds, in the Velebit Channel up to moderate NE. Sea mainly smooth.
