LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 65, AND IN PLACES OF SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC A CHANCE OF GUSTS OF E and SE WINDS UP TO 35, GRADUALLY EASING. A CHANCE OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure from the north has intensified toward the Adriatic, while a trough still lies over the South Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 12-24, in places of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic turning to E and SE, and gradually easing toward the end of the day to 10-20 knots. In the Velebit Channel NE winds 16-34, gradually easing toward the end of the day to 12-24 knots. Sea 2-3, toward the open 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a chance of isolated thundery rain showers, mainly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic.

Light to fresh, in the Velebit Channel up to strong NE, and in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic E and SE winds, gradually easing toward midday. Sea calming to smooth and slight. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic.
