SYNOPSIS

A trough with cold front will be shifting across the Adriatic southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure will intensify behind, and a shallow low will generate over the South Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds strengthening to 12-24, in places late in the day up to 30 knots. In the South Adriatic SE winds 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, toward the open late in the day 3-4. Visibility 10-20, but in places less than 10 km due to rain. Variably or mainly cloudy with scattered rain, isolated thundery rain showers. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic partial clearing. Air temperatures lower.

Moderate to strong, in places up to near gale force, NE, and toward the open sea NW winds. In the North and South Adriatic variably cloudy with scattered rain or brief isolated thundery rain showers, elsewhere clearing. Sea slight and moderate.
