STILL A CHANCE OF FOG IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC THIS MORNING. IN THE NORTH, IN THE EVENING IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC AS WELL, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS UP TO 35, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 50 KNOTS. A LITTLE CHANCE OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ALONG THE COAST OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A weakened cold front lies north of the Adriatic, while unstable air is inflowing in high levels.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

Calm or NW, along the coast this morning NE winds as well, 4-10, and in the afternoon W and NW in places up to 14 knots. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 6-16, in the North Adriatic up to 20, and in the Velebit Channel up to 24 knots. Sea 1-2, in the North, in the afternoon in the rest of the Adriatic as well, 2-3, and toward the open of the North Adriatic possibly 3-4. Visibility 10-20, in places reduced to around 5 km due to mist, in the Central and South Adriatic this morning possibly even to less than 1 km due to fog. Fine or fair, in the North Adriatic variably cloudy with a little chance of isolated thundery rain showers along the coast.

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic fresh, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds, gradually spreading to the rest of the Adriatic during the night. Sea smooth or slight, toward the open of the North Adriatic possibly up to moderate. Fine or fair, in the North Adriatic variably cloudy with a little chance of isolated thundery rain showers along the coast.
