LOCAL GUSTS OF NE, IN THE OPEN SEA OF NW WINDS, 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL OF NE UP TO 75 KNOTS. STILL A CHANCE OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure has intensified toward the Adriatic from the west, while a trough and a high level low still lie over the South Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE, in the open sea NW winds, 14-30, in the Velebit Channel NE up to 38, easing briefly to 12-24, in the Velebit Channel to 30 knots, but strengthening again in the evening. Sea 2-3, in the open south of Istria 3-4. Visibility above 20 km. Mostly clear and a little warmer. In the South Adriatic still variably cloudy with a chance of scattered rain or isolated thundery rain showers in the extreme south.

Moderate to strong, in places up to near gale force NE and NW winds, in the Velebit Channel NE up to gale force. Sea smooth or slight, in the open up to moderate. Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic still variably cloudy.
