LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 70, EASING TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT TO 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL TO 50 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS STILL IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC. SEA POSSIBLY 4-5 IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC DURING THE DAY.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the northwest, while a trough with frontal disturbance is slowly shifting from the South Adriatic further eastwards.

NE winds 15-25, in the Velebit Channel up to 35 knots, easing a little toward the end of the day. Sea 3-4, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic possibly 4-5 during the day, mainly in the open and in the Velebit Channel. Visibility 10-20 km. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly during the day. Elsewhere mostly clear, south of Istria still fine or fair.
