WARNING

IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-55, IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC UP TO 75 KNOTS, MAINLY IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL. SEA IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC TOMORROW POSSIBLY UP TO 5. IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC LATE IN THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT AND IN THE CENTRAL FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with cold front has approached the Adriatic from the north and it is expected to shift during the night and tomorrow morning southwards. A ridge of high pressure is expected to intensify from the northwest later on.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE and SW winds strengthening to 5-15, in the North Adriatic up to 20, turning in the North Adriatic late in the day and in a part of the Central during the night to NW and NE 12-26 knots. Sea mainly 1-2, locally 3, mainly in the North Adriatic. Visibility 10-20 km. In the North, during the night in a part of the Central Adriatic as well, cloud increase with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Elsewhere mostly clear.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Variably cloudy with rain, showers and thunder. In the South Adriatic mostly clear, but in the northern part in the morning cloud increase with rain and with a chance of isolated thundery rain showers. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds strengthening to strong and near gale force, in places up to gale force, mainly in the Velebit Channel. Elsewhere light to moderate SE winds will turn in the northern part to light to moderate NE, toward the open sea to NW. Sea smooth or slight, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic increasing to slight and moderate, in the North Adriatic in the morning possibly up to rough.
