IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL LOCAL GUSTS OF NE, TOWARD THE OPEN SEA OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC IN THE AFTERNOON OF NW WINDS, 35-50 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with frontal disturbance is shifting across the inland eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and along the coast of the rest of the Adriatic, NE winds 8-16, in the Velebit Channel up to 25 knots, easing during the day and turning to NW. Elsewhere NW winds 8-16, toward the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic in the afternoon up to 22 knots. Sea 2-3, toward the open of the South Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 15-25 km. Mostly clear, but around midday and in the afternoon becoming variably cloudy. No significant change in air temperatures.

Mostly clear, still with some clouds in places at first. Along the coast light to moderate NE, toward the open sea light to moderate NW winds. Sea smooth or slight, toward the open of the South Adriatic up to moderate.
