ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with frontal disturbance is shifting across the Adriatic further southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 30 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic SE and SW, turning toward the end of the day and during the night to NE, toward the open sea to NW winds 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic possibly 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Gradual clearing is expected during the night, but still with a chance of isolated thundery rain showers.

Clearing, but still with a chance of a thundery rain shower. Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds, gradually easing during the forenoon to light to moderate, in the Velebit Channel to fresh. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic light to moderate NE, toward the open sea NW winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to moderate.
