IN THE NORTH, LATE IN THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT GRADUALLY IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55 KNOTS. A CHANCE OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A cold front will be shifting north of the Adriatic further eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure will be intensifying from the west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW and W winds 4-12, from midday up to 16 knots. In the North Adriatic NE winds strengthening to 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 30 knots. Sea 1-2, in the North Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 15-25 km. Mostly clear, but along the coast in the afternoon cloud increase and a little chance of isolated thundery rain showers, and in the North Adriatic variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, particularly in the extreme north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds, gradually spreading in the evening to the Central, and in the second part of the night to the South Adriatic as well. Sea slight, in the North Adriatic up to moderate. In places of the North Adriatic still variably cloudy with a chance of isolated thundery rain showers, but clearing is expected during the night.
