LOCAL GUSTS OF SW and W, THEN OF NW WINDS, 30-40 KNOTS, EASING TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE FIRST PART OF THE DAY.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with frontal system is shifting from the Adriatic further eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure will intensify late in the day.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SW and W, turning in the North and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic, in the afternoon elsewhere as well, to NW winds 12-22, in the open of the South Adriatic this morning still up to 28 knots. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic toward the end of the day NW winds easing to 6-16 knots. Sea 3-4, calming in the North and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic, toward the end of the day elsewhere as well, to 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy and cooler with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly in the first part of the day. Gradual clearing is expected in the afternoon and toward the end of the day, firstly in the northern part of the Adriatic.

Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic during the night still variably cloudy with a little rain in places, mainly in the extreme south. Light to moderate, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic today, still up to fresh NW winds. Sea smooth or slight, calming in the North Adriatic to smooth.
