WARNING

IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL, DURING THE NIGHT IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC AS WELL, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and N WINDS 35-50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC TILL THE END OF THE DAY GUSTS OF SE WINDS 35-40 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A low with frontal system is shifting across the Central and South Adriatic further eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure will gradually intensify from the west late in the day.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE and N winds 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic mainly SE and E winds 8-18, in the extreme south S winds up to 28 knots, gradually easing and turning late in the day to NE and N 10-20, in places up to 26 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated heavier rain showers with thunder. Gradual clearing expected in the North, during the night in a part of the Central Adriatic as well.

Moderate to strong NE and N winds, in the Velebit Channel NE still up to near gale force, gradually easing in the North Adriatic toward midday. Sea slight, in the open up to moderate. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic mostly clear, elsewhere still variably cloudy with a risk of rain or isolated rain showers with thunder at first.
