WARNING

IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL, DURING THE NIGHT IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC AS WELL, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and N WINDS 35-50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC TILL THE END OF THE DAY AND IN THE MORNING IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC, GUSTS OF S and SE WINDS 35-40 KNOTS. A RISK OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A low with frontal system is shifting across the Central and South Adriatic further eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure will gradually intensify from the west late in the day.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE and N winds 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic mainly SE and E winds 8-18, in the extreme south up to 28 knots, gradually easing and turning late in the day to NE and NW. Sea 2-3, in the open 3-4. Variably cloudy with occasional rain and with a risk of heavier rain showers with thunder. Gradual clearing is expected around midday, firstly in the North, till the end of the day in a part of the Central Adriatic as well.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to strong, in places up to near gale force NE and N winds. Sea slight, in the open up to moderate. Clearing will continue, but rain, isolated rain showers and thunder are still expected in the South, in the first part of the night in a part of the Central Adriatic as well.
