IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and NW WINDS 30-40, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL THIS MORNING STILL UP TO 55 KNOTS, EASING LATER ON.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with cold front is shifting from the Adriatic eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic and along the coast mainly NE, elsewhere mainly NW winds, 10-20, this morning still up to 26, and in the Velebit Channel up to 32 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and locally in the North Adriatic at first still up to 4. Visibility 10-20 km. In the South Adriatic variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, also possible in a part of the Central Adriatic. Clearing is expected in the rest of the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with a very little risk of isolated rain showers with thunder. Elsewhere mostly clear with some passing clouds in the North Adriatic. Light to moderate, in the South Adriatic up to fresh NW winds, easing to light. Sea calming to smooth, only in the extreme south of the Adriatic still up to slight.
