SYNOPSIS

A low over the South Adriatic is slowly filling up and shifting further eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the west. Moist and unstable air is still circulating in high levels.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE, toward the open sea N and NW winds, 12-22, in the Velebit Channel at first up to 25 knots, easing later on. Sea 2-3, toward the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy and a little warmer with rain in places and with a risk of brief isolated rain showers with thunder.

Along the coast light to moderate NE, toward the open sea moderate, in the South and Central Adriatic up to strong N and NW winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to moderate. Variably cloudy with a little rain in places and still with a risk of thunder.
