A ridge of high pressure is intensifying briefly over the Adriatic, while a trough with frontal system is approaching from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic calm or variable winds 4-8 knots. Elsewhere calm or NW winds 4-10, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to 16 knots. Along the coast of the North and a part of the Central Adriatic this morning still NE winds 6-16 knots. Sea mainly 1-2, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic, and in the Velebit Channel this morning, 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Mostly clear.

Gradual cloud increase, firstly in the North Adriatic. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic tomorrow scattered rain, firstly in the open sea. Calm or light variable winds. In the South and Central Adriatic tomorrow SE winds strengthening to light to moderate, in the North Adriatic NE light to moderate, in the Velebit Channel up to strong. Sea calm or smooth, increasing locally tomorrow up to slight.
