IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC GUSTS OF N and NW WINDS 35-50 KNOTS AND SEA UP TO 5, EASING AND CALMING TOMORROW. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC TODAY.

A low with frontal system is shifting from the Adriatic southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE winds 12-28, in the Velebit Channel up to 34, easing toward the end of the day and turning during the night, firstly in the open, to SE. In the South and Central Adriatic NE winds 12-28, toward the open sea N and NW strengthening to 16-34 knots. Sea 3-4, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic increasing to 4-5, and calming in the North Adriatic in the evening to 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy and rather cold with scattered rain, in the South Adriatic still with isolated rain showers and thunder. Gradual clearing is expected toward the end of the day and in the evening.

Moderate to strong NE, toward the open sea up to gale force N and NW winds, gradually easing. In the North Adriatic SE and SW winds gradually strengthening to moderate and strong. Sea slight, in the open of the South and Central Adriatic moderate and rough, calming in the morning. Mostly clear, but in the extreme south still cloudy with isolated rain showers. In the North Adriatic gradual cloud increase in the morning.
