SYNOPSIS

A shallow trough with frontal system is shifting across the North and a part of the Central Adriatic further eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure will gradually intensify from the southwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW winds 10-20, toward the open up to 24 knots. In places along the coast briefly NE winds 8-18, in the Velebit Channel up to 24 knots. Along the coast of the South Adriatic at first still SE winds 10-20 knots. Winds gradually easing during the night. Sea 2-3, toward the open 3-4, calming during the night. Visibility 10-20 km. Fine or fair, in places variably cloudy with a risk of rain or brief isolated rain showers and thunder, but clearing is expected during the night.

Light to moderate, in the open of the South Adriatic up to fresh NW winds, gradually dying away. In the North, then in a part of the Central Adriatic light to moderate SW winds. Sea smooth or slight. Mostly clear.
