GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-65, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 85 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH AND IN A SMALLER PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC GUSTS OF SE and E, DURING THE NIGHT OF NE WINDS, 35-55 KNOTS. SEA IN THE OPEN UP TO 5. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, PARTICULARLY IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC LATE IN THE DAY. A LITTLE RISK OF FOG, MAINLY IN THE OPEN OF THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A broad low centered over the Tyrrhenian Sea will be filling up slowly and shifting across the South Adriatic further eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure will intensify slowly from the west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 14-28, in places up to 34, and in the Velebit Channel up to 44 knots. In the South and in a smaller part of the Central Adriatic SE and E winds 14-28, in the extreme south up to 36 knots, easing a little toward the end of the day and turning to NE. Sea 3-4, in the South Adriatic and in the open of the rest of the Adriatic 4-5. Visibility 10-20, but in places at first possibly less than 1 km due to fog, mainly in the open of the Central and South Adriatic. Variably and mainly cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. In the northern part of the Adriatic colder, in the southern becoming colder late in the day.

NE winds strong and near gale force, in places up to gale force, easing in the second part of the night. Sea slight and moderate, in the open up to rough, calming gradually. Overcast with rain, showers and thunder, particularly in the southern part, while clearing is expected in the northern part of the Adriatic.
