IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AT FIRST STILL A RISK OF GUSTS OF NE WINDS 30-40 KNOTS. IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest toward the Adriatic, while a trough over southern Italy is slowly filling up.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE, turning toward the open sea and along the west Istrian coast to NW winds 4-14, and in the Velebit Channel at first still NE up to 20 knots. In the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic SE and E winds 10-20, along the coast SW, and during the night NE winds 4-12 knots. Sea 2-3, along the coast mainly 1-2, and in the open of the southern part still 3-4. Visibility above 20 km. Mostly clear. In the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with a little rain in places, in the extreme south with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder.

Light NE and NW winds and sea smooth. In the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic moderate, during the night up to fresh E and SE winds and sea slight, in the southern part up to moderate. Mostly clear, only in the open of the southern part still variably cloudy with a little rain in places, in the extreme south with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder.
