IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LATE IN THE DAY AND TOMORROW LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 50 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure from the north is weakening a little, while a new shallow trough is expected to generate over the central Mediterranean.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NW and NE winds 6-16, and NE strengthening late in the day to 12-22, in the Velebit Channel up to 26 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic NW winds 6-12, in the open sea up to 16 knots, easing in the evening and gradually turning to SE. Sea 2, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic in the evening 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with rain only in the South, during the night in places of the rest of the Adriatic as well. No significant change in air temperatures.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

In the northern part of the Adriatic moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE, and more to the south SE and E winds gradually strengthening, till the morning to moderate and fresh. Sea slight, in the northern part up to moderate. Variably cloudy with light scattered rain or drizzle.
