LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 75 KNOTS, EASING IN THE SECOND PART OF THE DAY AND DYING AWAY IN THE SECOND PART OF THE NIGHT, AT THE LATEST IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL. SEA IN THE OPEN OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC POSSIBLY UP TO 5, CALMING IN THE AFTERNOON.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending from the north toward the Adriatic, while a trough of the Mediterranean low over the South Adriatic will be filling up.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 15-30, in the Velebit Channel up to 40, gradually easing in the second part of the day to 10-20, in the Velebit Channel to 25 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open 3-4, in the open of the North Adriatic possibly up to 5, calming in the second part of the day. Visibility above 20 km. Variably cloudy, still with a risk of rain in places, mainly in the South Adriatic and during the forenoon in the wider area of Rijeka.

Moderate to fresh, in the Velebit Channel still up to strong at first, NE winds, easing in the second part of the night. Sea smooth or slight, locally in the open still up to moderate, but further calming. Variably cloudy with a risk of scattered rain in the extreme south of the Adriatic.
