DURING THE NIGHT AND TOMORROW MORNING IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL, AND IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE STILL POSSIBLE TODAY.

SYNOPSIS

A low over the central Mediterranean is filling up and slowly shifting eastwards, toward the Ionian Sea, while a ridge of high pressure will intensify from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 6-16, in the Velebit Channel at first still up to 20, strengthening during the night to 12-22, in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic SE and E winds 4-12, turning during the night, firstly along the coast, to NE 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic during the night possibly 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder. Partial clearing is expected late in the day and during the night.

Fine or fair, still with a little rain in places at first, mainly in the open. In the South Adriatic in the morning a new cloud increase. Light to moderate, in the North and in a part of the Central, and in the extreme south of the Adriatic, moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic possibly up to moderate.
