WARNING

IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-40, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL IN THE MORNING AND AGAIN DURING THE NIGHT UP TO 60 KNOTS. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE STILL POSSIBLE TODAY.

SYNOPSIS

A low over the central Mediterranean is filling up and slowly shifting eastwards, toward the Ionian Sea, while a ridge of high pressure will intensify from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 32 knots, easing in the afternoon, but strengthening again in the evening. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic SE and E winds 4-14, toward the open sea and in the extreme south up to 20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic in the morning 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder. Late in the day and in the evening end of rain and partial clearing. Air temperatures a little lower.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic wind gradually turning to light to moderate NE. Sea smooth or slight, in the northern part up to moderate. It will continue to clear up, but still with a risk of light scattered rain at first.
