WARNING

IN THE SOUTH, IN THE MORNING IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC AS WELL, LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WINDS 35-60 KNOTS AND SEA UP TO 5, EASING AND CALMING TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY. A RISK OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, PARTICULARLY IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL, DURING THE NIGHT AGAIN IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC AS WELL.

SYNOPSIS

A field of low pressure will stay over the Adriatic, while a frontal system is shifting across the Central and South Adriatic further southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and Central Adriatic SW winds 10-20, easing in the afternoon to 4-14 knots and briefly turning in places to NW and NE. In the South, in the morning in a part of the Central Adriatic as well, SE winds 18-34, gradually easing and turning in the afternoon, except in the extreme south, to SW 8-18, at first up to 22 knots. Sea 2-3, in the South, during the forenoon in a part of the Central Adriatic, 4-5, calming late in the day to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably or mainly cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic during the forenoon passing and partial clearing, but rain is expected again toward the end of the day.

Light to moderate, along the coast SE and E, in the open sea SW winds. Sea smooth or slight. In the extreme south of the Adriatic, toward the Strait of Otranto, up to near gale force SE winds and sea moderate and rough. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder.
