LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and NW WINDS 35-50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS, GRADUALLY EASING. IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC SEA LOCALLY UP TO 5. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC TODAY.

SYNOPSIS

A low over the Adriatic is filling up and shifting further southeastwards, while a new trough is expected to approach from the northwest during the night.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW, in places along the coast NE winds, 12-26, toward the open of the South and Central Adriatic NW up to 30, and in the Velebit Channel NE up to 34 knots in the morning. Along the coast of the South Adriatic at first still S and SW winds 12-22 knots. Winds will ease all along the Adriatic toward the end of the day. Sea 3-4, toward the open of the South and Central Adriatic 4-5, calming late in the day. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, mainly in the South Adriatic with isolated rain showers and thunder. Partial clearing is expected in the second part of the day, firstly in the north of the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

NW winds further easing, giving way in the North, from the middle of the night in the rest of the Adriatic as well, to SE, and strengthening to moderate and fresh. Sea slight, in the South Adriatic up to moderate. A new cloud increase is expected.
