A trough with cold front is approaching the Adriatic from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and NW winds 4-12, in the South Adriatic up to 18, easing and turning firstly in the North, during the night in the rest of the Adriatic, to SE and gradually strengthening to 14-28 knots. Sea 1-2, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic 2-3, gradually increasing during the night, firstly in the northern part, to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic still with a risk of rain or isolated rain showers and thunder at first. A new cloud increase with rain expected during the night.

Strong and near gale force SE winds turning to S and SW, in the North Adriatic to NE and NW. Toward the open sea NW winds up to gale force. Sea increasing in the open up to rough. Scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder.
