SYNOPSIS

A field of high pressure has intensified briefly over the Adriatic, while a trough with cold front is approaching from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW and NE winds 4-12, in the South and Central Adriatic up to 20 knots, gradually easing and giving way in the North Adriatic late in the day to SE 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic at first possibly up to 4, calming to 1-2. Visibility 10-20 km. Clearing, but in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic at first still a risk of rain, showers and thunder, mainly in the open sea.

A new cloud increase, bringing rain later on, firstly in the North Adriatic, where isolated rain showers and thunder are likely tomorrow. SE winds strengthening to strong and near gale force. Sea slight and moderate, in the open possibly up to rough tomorrow.
