IN THE OPEN OF THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC GUSTS OF NW WINDS 35-50 KNOTS AND SEA UP TO 5, EASING LATE IN THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT. IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL STILL GUSTS OF NE WINDS UP TO 35 KNOTS THIS MORNING, EASING LATER ON.

SYNOPSIS

A low centred over the South Adriatic will be shifting slowly eastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

Along the west Istrian coast almost calm, in the second part of the day SW winds 6-12 knots. In the Velebit Channel NE winds 10-20 knots, easing later on. Elsewhere NW winds 8-16, in the open of the Central and South Adriatic 20-32 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open of the Central and South Adriatic 4-5, gradually calming through the night. Visibility 10-20 km. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic mostly clear, but gradual cloud increase is expected in the afternoon. Elsewhere variably cloudy with a risk of rain.

Variably cloudy with rain in places. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic light to moderate SE and SW, elsewhere moderate to strong NW winds, easing and turning in the second part of the night to light SE winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the South Adriatic moderate, gradually calming in the second part of the night. Air temperatures warming up.
