IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC IN THE SECOND PART OF THE DAY A RISK OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. LATE IN THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT IN THE OPEN SEA LOCAL GUSTS OF NW WINDS 35-50 KNOTS. IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL DURING THE NIGHT LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS AROUND 35 KNOTS. SEA LOCALLY IN THE OPEN DURING THE NIGHT UP TO 5.

A low centred over the South Adriatic will be shifting slowly eastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

Mainly NW, in the South Adriatic at first SW winds, 6-16 knots. In the second part of the day NW winds 6-16, in the open south of Istria strengthening to 16-32 knots. Sea 2-3, increasing in the open to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably and mainly cloudy with rain in places, in the second part of the day with isolated rain showers and thunder, particularly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to fresh NW winds, locally in the open of the Central and South Adriatic up to near gale force. In places along the coast light to moderate NE winds, only in the Velebit Channel up to fresh. Sea slight and moderate, locally in the open of the Central and South Adriatic up to rough. Overcast with rain, showers and thunder in places.
