ALONG THE COAST OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY AND IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 75 KNOTS. SEA POSSIBLY 4-5 TOMORROW.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge is expected to intensify and a cold front to approach from the northeast.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW winds 6-16, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to 22 knots. In the North Adriatic toward the end of the day and in a part of the Central later on, wind will turn to NE and strengthen to 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 32 knots. Sea 2-3, increasing during the night to 3-4. Visibility 10-20, in places at first 2-4 km due to mist. Gradual clearing, firstly along the coast, but in the Velebit Channel during the night a risk of light wind drifted snow.

Mostly clear, fair in the open and cloudy with a risk of wind drifted snow in the Velebit Channel. Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force NE winds, spreading from the North and a part of the Central Adriatic to the rest of the Adriatic. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic at first light to moderate, in the open sea p to fresh NW winds. Sea slight and moderate, locally possibly up to rough. Significantly colder.
