WARNING

STILL A RISK OF FOG IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC THIS MORNING. DURING THE NIGHT LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-50 KNOTS. IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL FROM MIDDAY GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-40, DURING THE NIGHT UP TO 75 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge is expected to intensify and a cold front to approach from the northeast.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW winds 6-16, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to 22, turning late in the day, firstly along the coast of the northern part, to NE and strengthening to 12-24 knots. In the Velebit Channel wind already turning to NE 8-18 knots and strengthening in the evening. Sea 1-2, toward the open 2-3, in the South Adriatic late in the day 3-4. Visibility 10-20, in places this morning still around 5 km due to mist, in the North Adriatic possibly less than 1 km due to fog. In the morning variably cloudy, in the North Adriatic mainly cloudy, then clearing will follow. No significant change in air temperatures.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE winds strengthening to moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force, gradually spreading along the coast. Sea increasing to slight and moderate. Mostly clear. More clouds and a risk of wind drifted snow in the Velebit Channel. Air temperatures will drop.
