IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AT FIRST AND AGAIN DURING THE NIGHT, AND IN NORTHERN DALMATIA FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, A RISK OF GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45 KNOTS. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS STILL POSSIBLE IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC AT FIRST.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is intensifying over the Adriatic from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE winds 6-16, in the Velebit Channel at first and again during the night up to 24 knots. Elsewhere N and NW winds 6-16, locally in the open during the day still up to 20, turning during the night to NE 6-16, in northern Dalmatia from the middle of the night up to 20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the Velebit Channel and in the open during the day possibly 3-4. Visibility 10 20 km. Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic at first still variably cloudy with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Mostly clear. Light to moderate, in the north of Dalmatia up to fresh, and in the Velebit Channel up to strong NE winds. In the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic at first light to moderate NW winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the Velebit Channel during the night possibly up to moderate. No significant change in air temperatures.
