SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the north toward the Adriatic, while some moist and unstable air is still circulating in high levels.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots. Along the coast of the rest of the Adriatic NE, toward the open sea N and NW winds 8-18, strengthening from the end of the day up to 24 knots. Sea 2-3, in the Velebit Channel and in the open 3-4. Visibility 20-30 km. Fine or fair, in places cloudy with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic.

Fine or fair, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder. Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds, toward the open sea of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to strong N and NW winds, diminishing a little toward midday.
