GUSTS OF NE WIND 35-55, AT THE FOOT OF VELEBIT UP TO 75 KNOTS, DIMINISHING IN THE AFTERNOON. IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY STILL IN THE MORNING.

SYNOPSIS

A shallow trough and frontal system are shifting over the Adriatic towards the east while a ridge of high is intensifying from the north-west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE wind 14-28, at the foot of Velebit up to 40 knots, diminishing in the afternoon and turning to NW wind 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Mostly clear, still in the morning in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with a risk of little rain or some isolated shower with thunder. No significant change in air temperatures while in the Central and South Adriatic a little lower ones.

Mostly clear. Moderate to fresh NW wind, towards the end of the day and at night turning to light to moderate NE wind, first along the coast, then also towards the open sea. Sea calming to smooth to slight.
