SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure from the west is extending over the Adriatic, while a trough with frontal disturbance is slowly shifting north of the Adriatic eastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW winds 6-16, in the South and Central Adriatic up to 20 knots. During the night along the coast and in the North Adriatic NE winds 6-16, in places along the coast possibly up to 20 knots. In the Velebit Channel NE winds 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy, still with isolated rain showers and thunder at first, mainly along the coast of the southern part of the Adriatic.

Mostly clear, but an increase of daily cloudiness expected along the coast around midday. Light to moderate, in the South and Central Adriatic up to fresh NW winds. Along the coast and in the North Adriatic at first, light to moderate NE winds, only in places possibly up to fresh. Sea smooth or slight.
