LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-55 KNOTS, GRADUALLY DIMINISHING THROUGH THE DAY, FIRSTLY IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC. IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC IN THE AFTERNOON GUSTS OF NW WINDS 35-40 KNOTS, DIMINISHING DURING THE NIGHT. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC AT FIRST.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending from the west toward the North Adriatic, while a shallow trough over the South Adriatic is slowly filling up.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and N winds 10-20, in the Central and South Adriatic, and in the southern part of the Velebit Channel, up to 28, gradually diminishing during the day to 8-18 knots and turning in places to NW winds. In the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic in the afternoon NW winds 12-24 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open of the Central and South Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 20 km. Fine or fair, in the South Adriatic still with isolated rain showers and thunder this morning.
