WARNING

IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC STILL A LITTLE RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS THIS MORNING. IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE FORENOON LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-50, DURING THE NIGHT AGAIN IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AND IN THE EXTREME SOUTH UP TO 35 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with frontal system is shifting further eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying toward the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE winds 12-22, in the Velebit Channel up to 26, diminishing around midday and strengthening a little again in the evening. In the rest of the Adriatic NW winds 6-16, in the afternoon 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the morning in the Velebit Channel and toward the end of the day briefly toward the Strait of Otranto, 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy in the morning, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic still with a risk of a little rain or brief isolated rain showers, but becoming brighter later on. No significant change in air temperatures.

Mostly clear. At first still fresh NW, then light to moderate, in the second part of the night in the Velebit Channel and in the extreme south up to fresh NE winds. Sea smooth or slight.
