IN THE NORTH, THEN IN THE CENTRAL, AND DURING THE NIGHT IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 80 KNOTS. SEA POSSIBLY 4-5 IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC. A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A shallow trough with frontal disturbance is gradually shifting across the Adriatic southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North, then in the Central, and during the night in the South Adriatic as well, NE winds strengthening to 12-28, in the Velebit Channel up to 38 knots. In the South Adriatic today and in a part of the Central at first, SE winds 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3, in the North, till the end of the day in the Central, and during the night in the South Adriatic as well, increasing to 3-4, in the North Adriatic possibly to 4-5, mainly in the open. Visibility 10-20, but in places at first still around 4 km due to mist. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder.

Variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder. Gradual clearing is expected in the North and in a part of the Central, in the morning in the rest of the Adriatic as well. Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel strong to gale force NE winds, diminishing a little in the morning. Sea slight and moderate, in the North Adriatic possibly up to rough. Significantly colder with NE winds.
