SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is briefly intensifying over the Adriatic from the northwest, while a new trough is expected to approach from the west tomorrow.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 10-20, in the Velebit Channel at first still up to 28, rapidly diminishing and giving way during the night to SE winds 6-12 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE, in the afternoon NW winds 12-28, during the night NE diminishing to 6-16 knots. Sea 3-4, in the North and in a part of the Central, tomorrow in the rest of the Adriatic, calming to 2-3. Visibility 20 km. Mostly clear, but gradual cloud increase is expected in the North Adriatic during the night.

In the North Adriatic mainly cloudy with scattered rain in the morning. Elsewhere gradual cloud increase. Light to moderate SE winds. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic light to moderate NE winds, gradually diminishing and dying away. Sea smooth or slight. Air temperatures will drop, particularly night and morning ones.
