SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest, while some moist and unstable air is circulating in high levels over the South Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE, in the open sea N and NW winds, 16-34, in the Central Adriatic and in the Velebit Channel up to 40 knots, diminishing to 12-26, firstly in the northern part. Sea 3-4, in the open of the Central and South Adriatic 4-5. Visibility above 20 km. Mostly clear, but in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with a risk of light scattered rain. Night and morning air temperatures a little lower.

Mostly clear. Moderate to strong, in places still up to gale force NE and NW winds, gradually diminishing. Sea slight and moderate, calming in the North Adriatic.
