IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE FORENOON AND ONLY IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL IN THE EVENING, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure from the northeast is intensifying a little over the Adriatic, while a shallow low still lies over the Central Mediterranean.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE winds 6-16, in the open sea up to 20, diminishing in the afternoon to 4-12 and giving way in the evening to NW, along the coast to NE. In the North Adriatic NE winds 10-20, in the Velebit Channel up to 26 knots, diminishing a little in the afternoon and strengthening again in the evening. Sea calming to 2-3, along the coast to 1-2, in the open of the North and Central Adriatic, and in the Velebit Channel in the morning 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Fine or fair. Air temperatures a little higher.

Mostly clear, but in the extreme south of the Adriatic variably cloudy with a risk of light scattered rain. Light NW, along the coast light NE winds, only in the North Adriatic moderate, in the Velebit Channel up to strong. Sea smooth, in the Velebit Channel slight.
