AT FIRST, THEN DURING THE NIGHT ONLY IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45 KNOTS. IN THE OPEN SEA OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC TODAY STILL GUSTS OF NW WINDS 35-40 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending from the North toward the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 10-20, diminishing in the afternoon to 4-14, and strengthening again in the Velebit Channel in the evening to 12-24 knots. In the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic NW winds 12-22 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic, and in the Velebit Channel in the evening 3-4. Visibility 20-30 km. Mostly clear with some cloud in places and with a risk of light scattered rain in the extreme south of the Adriatic tonight.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Mostly clear, but in the extreme south of the Adriatic variably cloudy with a risk of brief isolated rain showers. Light to moderate, in the Velebit Channel up to strong NE, and in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to moderate NW winds, dying away in the morning. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the southern part of the Adriatic and in the Velebit Channel during the night up to moderate. Night and morning air temperatures a little lower.
