LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 30-40 KNOTS IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AND IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC AT FIRST AND AGAIN DURING THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

A low over the Ionian Sea is filling up, while a ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the northeast.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 6-16, in the Velebit Channel and in the extreme south of the Adriatic at first and again during the night up to 24 knots. In the Central and in a part of the South Adriatic NE winds turning to NW 8-18, along the coast during the night again to NE 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3, in the North and South Adriatic up to 4, mainly in the open. Visibility 10-20 km. Mostly clear, but in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Mostly clear, but in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with a risk of some rain in places during the day. Light to moderate, in the Velebit Channel and in the extreme south of the Adriatic up to strong NE, in the open of the Central and of the greater part of the South Adriatic light to moderate NW winds. No significant change in air temperatures, in the North Adriatic warming up a little tomorrow.
