WARNING

IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL THIS MORNING LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-40 KNOTS. IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC STILL A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A low over the Central Mediterranean is filling up and it is slowly shifting eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure will intensify a little from the northwest toward the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 6-16, in the Velebit Channel this morning up to 22 knots. In the open sea of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic SE and E winds 12-22 knots. From midday in the open, firstly of the northern part, wind will turn to NW 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 20-30 km. Variably cloudy, in the North Adriatic with bright spells, but in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic still with a risk of rain or brief isolated rain showers with thunder. No significant change in air temperatures.

Clearing. In the northern part of the Adriatic NE winds strengthening to moderate and strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force. Along the coast of the rest of the Adriatic light, in the open of the South and Central Adriatic up to fresh NW winds. Sea smooth or slight.
