SYNOPSIS

A field of high pressure over the Adriatic is weakening, while a trough with frontal system is approaching from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE winds strengthening to 15-25, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic 20-30 knots. Sea increasing to 3-4, in the Bay of Kvarneriæ and in the open 4-5. Visibility 10-20 km. Heavier cloud increase with scattered rain in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic.

Variably or mainly cloudy with rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. In the North Adriatic moderate to strong NE, elsewhere near gale and gale force, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to storm force SE winds. Sea moderate and rough, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic very rough. Visibility locally reduced due to rain. Air temperatures significantly higher.
