LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 30-40, IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC AND IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC UP TO 60 KNOTS. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS STILL IN THE OPEN AT FIRST.

SYNOPSIS

A low over the Western Mediterranean is filling up and shifting southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure from the northwest is extending over the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 6-16, in the Velebit Channel up to 28, strengthening to 12-26, in the North and in the extreme south of the Adriatic up to 36 knots. In the open of the South and Central Adriatic still SE winds 8-18 knots at first. Sea 2-3, increasing to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Mostly clear, only in the open at first still variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder.
