SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is intensifying over the Adriatic from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the Central and South Adriatic NE and N winds 20-40, in places up to 50 knots. In the North Adriatic NE and N winds 10-20, in the Velebit Channel during the day still 20-40, diminishing in the extreme north this morning and in the rest of the Adriatic till the end of the day, then turning to NW 6-16 knots. Sea 3-4, locally 4-5, in the open of the Central and South Adriatic possibly 5-6, calming the in the North Adriatic till the end of the day to 2-3. Mostly clear, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate cloud increase and a risk of light scattered rain or sleet along the coast. Significantly colder.
