SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is intensifying toward the Adriatic from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 35 knots, diminishing. In the open sea of the South Adriatic SE and SW winds 6-14 knots, dying away till the end of the day. Sea 2-3, in the North Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 15-25 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain. Partial clearing in expected in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic toward the end of the day.

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic mostly clear, elsewhere variably cloudy, still with light scattered rain. Along the coast light, in the Velebit Channel up to moderate NE, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to fresh NW winds. Sea smooth or slight. A little colder.
